meet the founder
Hi, I’m Ellen, founder of UpDog Improv. UpDog Improv started because I wanted to combine my love of performance, comedy, and connecting others. I realized improv isn’t just for the stage: it’s a foundational skill.
I’ve seen how play can quiet the inner critic, build self-efficacy, and help people show up with more confidence and authenticity. Too often, adults are expected to perform, produce, and stay in their comfort zones. I wanted to create a space that encourages creativity, connection, and growth through trial and error.
Outside of teaching improv, you can find me at Second City sharpening my skills, on the stage performing comedy, or at home with my family.
The only wrong decision is no decision.
